This Side Human
Business Class
Self Improvement
So I started off the semester for my painting III workshop with a self portrait, so I thought it was only fitting to end the semester with another self portrait. My final painting is not nearly as strong concept wise. That has a lot to do with the fact that the painting that was meant to be my final was finished early and I did not want to spend the last work day twiddling my thumbs. So I quickly wiped up the idea of finishing off with a simple self-portrait.
Now if a gallery owner or teacher where to ask i could always argue that the concept is about my feminine side over powering the masculine. Seeing as the colors I chose could be considered more feminine. I didn't mean for that to happen I just didn't want to use blue and orange I usually use. Plus I like the combination of that purple and teal.
Beginning of the semester.
End of the semester.

Computer Immersion
I had received a compliment on a piece I did last semester that was inspired by Coles Philips link So I decided to do another illustration inspired by him. This time about people becoming fully immersed with computers and becoming apart of them.
Done with acrylic on multiple layers of plexiglass.

Sound of Thunder
Meant to be an illustration for an audio book on the iPhone/iPod of "The Sound of Thunder."
This illustration was required to be done 50% on the computer. That's the 50% that didn't turn out so well. I have a horrible tendency with digital work to make everything very dull and desaturated. Oh well. next assignment I'm definitely doing with paint.

The Young and the Restless
A painting for my illustration class. It is meant for a teen fantasy book cover.
“A girl in law school has spent the last few years of her life trying to mature into an adult. One day an unexpected fire breaks out in class. She takes the initiative to put it out with a near by fire extinguisher. Little does she know, the fire extinguisher has magical properties that won’t let her forget the kid inside of her.”
self portrait + robotic arm
This is a self portrait I made to express my worry that paintings for illustration where becoming a mechanical process that did not have any passion or meaning driving them. Thus the robotic arm.
But… I also love robots and robotic prosthetics so i wanted to paint myself with one x3
Good news is after I got close to finish I stated to feel more confident and passion and enjoyment in my illustration works again.
